Holi Essay

History

A strange incident took place so many years ago. There was a demon king named 'Hiranyakashyap.' He was having a son named 'Prahlad.' Hiranyakashyap had got blessings from Lord Brahma that no one could kill him. This blessing made him arrogant. He told people to worship him instead of worshipping God. Every person began worshipping the demon king due to the king's fear but Prahlad didn't. Prahlad was a true follower and worshipper of God. In anger, the cruel king Hiranyakashyap made a plan with his sister 'Holika' to kill Prahlad as he was not worshipping him. They planned to scorch Prahlad in a fire while he was sitting in the lap of Holika. Instead of Prahlad, Holika got burned in the fire. This shows the devotion of Prahlad towards god. This incident clarifies the victory of Good over evil.
